To Team or Not to Team

Throughout the past couple of weeks learning and reading about working individually or in a group as well as understanding the software used to create our final project; I have decided that I will be working in a group creating a magazine.

After a while of going back and forth between working with a group or individually I found that a group would be easier. When it comes to projects I like working in a group whether than be myself as I found it better for me being able to have someone there for me to bounce ideas off of. When working alone I tend to procrastinate and get lost, so having another partner or even a group of people it keeps me focused knowing that I can’t hold back my group.

Last week when reviewing a social media of a peer account I have found Alexia Roe to be a very outgoing person. Her social media accounts show how outgoing she is and confident in herself. With the Lost at Sea activity it should me as one who works better with a group rather than induvial as well as the same for Alexia. Alexia and I have been friends for a while, working in the past on projects for school together, along with working at the same business and being on the same cheer team. From knowing Alexia for so long I know and she knows as well that together we will work great together, getting our project done on time to the best of our ability.

Overall, I will be working in a group with Alexia creating a magazine for our final project. We will complete this project to the best of our ability. We have decided on a magazine project as we find it to be easier than a movie.

Production 2- Schedule Photo Shoots

        After planning out where I am taking the photos for my magazine cover as well as who I am using for the photos; I have begun to reach out and find a day that allows everyone to be there for the cover photograph. I have picked days that I know other sports are having practices that will allow me to come in and capture pictures to use throughout my feature article. Next week I will be going to baseball workouts, the soccer game, and the basketball game. As this is not every sport; it is just enough to show the effect of the pandemic on these sports and how they participate in the sporting activity while still being cautious of the safety of others. On January 21 st I will be meeting one person from each sport, with their uniforms and mask on as well as the assistant principals at the front of the steps of school to capture my photo for my cover page.

Post Production 1- Content Page

 After comparing Alexia’s magazine to my magazine there were still a few things I had to change to have the same similar features as hers. Our content pages were completely opposite so I decided to change mine and go with her layout. I went out to one of the baseball games to capture a photograph for my content page. I also had to correct my font size and style. I used the editing features in my camera roll on my iPhone to edit the lighting on the photograph.  One thing we both had to correct was adding page numbers to each page of our magazine. After I made these modifications to my magazine; I felt very confident in my final work.

Peer Review

          This week we spent time having everyone present their projects so everyone could give feedback; whether it was something they liked in the project or something that needed to be corrected. After Lexi and I presented our two magazines we began to receive feedback from the class. Everyone really liked how the colors, font, and theme flowed together really well. One said how they liked how we each took a different take on the magazines; different feature articles, different problems in the magazine that still all related to our overall story of sports. There are many things we need to fix in both of our magazines; for example, one made a comment towards my magazine asking if it was a cheer magazine as I didn’t realize how many cheer photos I used when I could replace them with the sports I didn’t get to add in.
