With these masthead examples we are hoping it will grab the attention of the students and parents. Hopefully, parents, students, and even coaches will find it more interesting with a title like that. Showing that there is something out there to guide them through the stressful times of what is the next step in their life. 

Main Image:   

-        Photo of 2 -4  high school athletes ( 2 males from either the same sport or different and the same for two female athletes )

-         2 coaches

-        As many administration ( hopefully principle , assistance principles or athletic directors)

-        Will be standing in an ongoing V shape for the photo or staggering on the steps

-        Each person will be placing their hand on one another shoulder or just standing in a still position 

“Model or Image credit “ included under the photo or to the side

Athletes, coaches, and administers for the cover image will grab others attention, it something they can relate to. These kids go to school seeing someone like an administrator on the cover will grab their attention even the coaches on there. Coaches and administers are people these kids look up to, so having them on the main cover is something to grab their interest. 

Selling Line: 

“YOUNG. DESTINED. GREATNESS . VICTORUIOUS “

The selling line helps show the readers that we believe in them, that there is something for them in their future. This selling line also gives them something to push for, they may not believe they are good enough however these words and push them to be better.

Typography/Font: 

-        Solid white color for the letters

-        Use a bold font such as :

o    The Next Level ( probably this one )

o    The Next Level

o    The Next Level

-        Size of the title slide will be around 72

-        Remaining writing of the throughout the magazine will be size 20

-        The titles such as the feature articles on the other page will be 36

Using large bright text would grab the reader's attention, if we used other font and text size it may be distracting or not grab the attention of the readers. Some people judge books by its cover so we need something that will stand out and interest all.

Feature Article Title/Content/Image/s:    

 Will have two feature articles -

-        How sports have helped young people:

·      Discipline

·      Home for many kids

·      How high school sports have given these kids a sense of home, purpose , and a reason to keep pushing in the right direction

·      Can do a small interview about how sports have personally changed a student athletes’ life around

My working title for this article as of right now is Sports Impact on The Future Generation

Covid article:

·      How it impacted the kids in both school and sport seasons

·      What is means to some seniors being robbed from their seasons

·      Demonstrate the scare that athletes are going through during this pandemic

My working title for this article as of right now is The Battling of Sports During Global Pandemic

Kind of images to use are sports being played with mask on, people working out with mask on, etc. 

Content Page Styling/Article Title Ideas: 

I am not 100% sure but I am thinking that you will be finding articles such as special rival games, talking about rivals, recruitment events taking place, what is taking place in college sports right, what colleges look for, health articles discussing things like proper nutrition and vitamins etc.

Some titles that could be found on the article page could be but not 100% sure are:

-      -  Effects of global pandemic on sports

-     -   Start planning your future now

I would like the feature page to consist of high school sports. On the side I would add in motivational quotes. Keeping the same theme throughout the magazine with the same text size, font, etc. At the end of the content page, I would like to add in a summary or another type of attention grabber; something that will make the readers interested, wanting to read more about our magazine.

Production 2- Schedule Photo Shoots

        After planning out where I am taking the photos for my magazine cover as well as who I am using for the photos; I have begun to reach out and find a day that allows everyone to be there for the cover photograph. I have picked days that I know other sports are having practices that will allow me to come in and capture pictures to use throughout my feature article. Next week I will be going to baseball workouts, the soccer game, and the basketball game. As this is not every sport; it is just enough to show the effect of the pandemic on these sports and how they participate in the sporting activity while still being cautious of the safety of others. On January 21 st I will be meeting one person from each sport, with their uniforms and mask on as well as the assistant principals at the front of the steps of school to capture my photo for my cover page.

Post Production 1- Content Page

 After comparing Alexia’s magazine to my magazine there were still a few things I had to change to have the same similar features as hers. Our content pages were completely opposite so I decided to change mine and go with her layout. I went out to one of the baseball games to capture a photograph for my content page. I also had to correct my font size and style. I used the editing features in my camera roll on my iPhone to edit the lighting on the photograph.  One thing we both had to correct was adding page numbers to each page of our magazine. After I made these modifications to my magazine; I felt very confident in my final work.

Peer Review

          This week we spent time having everyone present their projects so everyone could give feedback; whether it was something they liked in the project or something that needed to be corrected. After Lexi and I presented our two magazines we began to receive feedback from the class. Everyone really liked how the colors, font, and theme flowed together really well. One said how they liked how we each took a different take on the magazines; different feature articles, different problems in the magazine that still all related to our overall story of sports. There are many things we need to fix in both of our magazines; for example, one made a comment towards my magazine asking if it was a cheer magazine as I didn’t realize how many cheer photos I used when I could replace them with the sports I didn’t get to add in.
