  Throughout the week we have watched a Ted Talk on New Introductions as well as an article called; “An Interview with Ron Beghetto: Subtle Nuances of Creativity in Learning and Life”. After reviewing over these two things this past week it has opened my mind about what to do when it comes to the final project. The ted talk opened my eyes to see that when you repress challenges to solve problems; this helps me understand that if I run into a challenge while working on my final project I just need to readdress the issue. I have researched different magazines that have the same genre as the one I am interested in. I found things I do and don’t like about their magazines. I love how they all have big, bolded, and bright titles; as well as how the photograph on the cover page is not allows the same. Throughout the past couple of weeks learning and reading about working individually or in a group as well as understanding the software used to create our final project; I have decided that I will be working in a group creating a magazine. After a while of going back and forth between working with a group or individually I found that a group would be easier. When it comes to projects I like working in a group whether than be myself as I found it better for me being able to have someone there for me to bounce ideas off of. When working alone I tend to procrastinate and get lost, so having another partner or even a group of people it keeps me focused knowing that I can’t hold back my group. Last week when reviewing a social media of a peer account I have found Alexia Roe to be a very outgoing person. Her social media accounts show how outgoing she is and confident in herself.   In the world we live in there are many different kinds of apps to use for both a movie or magazine project. After watching videos and reading articles on InDesign and premier pro, I have many mixed emotions about these programs. The role of InDesign is a publishing software application for creating magazines, flyers, newspapers, and books. It is mostly used by graphic designers, artist, publishers, and marketing professionals. Projects made in this program can be shared both digital or print formats. If I were to create a magazine with my group or by myself InDesign would hands down be the best option for this project. It would make a big difference using this program than any other program because it already comes with formats and it is made for making things like a magazine. In today’s world sitting down and reading a magazine is very rare. “ And  reading  a full magazine article--as opposed to scanning, perusing, surfing--is so twentieth century, so retirement home, so William Shawn (Scherer, 2002).” Most people don’t have time, even those who are retired don’t sit down and pick up a magazine, adults are always working and teens barley read as it is. But those who do don’t always read the whole thing. Most of these magazines have lengthy feature articles which cause those who read it to lose interest half way through. “ they have shorter attention spans than any previous generation; they are chronically over-stimulated and easily bored (Scherer, 2002)”   When creating a magazine, you have to be straight to the point; no body wants to sit there and read a 2-page article on something they are interested in when you drag it out. When it comes to film making there is a huge impact with the opening sequences as well as credits. “ Specialist titles are becoming an integral part of every film package ( Merril, 2004).” It is all about grabbing the audience attention, this is at the beginning of a movie so if they lost the audiences attention in the beginning they will lose them before the film even starts. It is very important and hard to make these opening sequences eye catching . “ These sequences promise excitement that the respective films ultimately deliver on.
